Give Back

The Beeton Cupboard Food Bank

Located in St. Michael & All Angels Church

The Beeton Cupboard is a volunteer-run community food bank that provides grocery items to those in need — no questions asked, no registration required. It is open on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and can be accessed by the Wychwood Ave entrance, through the wooden gate.

To donate: Donations can be dropped off any day between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. 

 

The Beeton also runs an Out of the Cold lunch program, offering take-out lunches every Sunday at 12:30 p.m. out of the Wychwood Ave entrance. 

The Out of the Cold kitchen runs from mid-autumn until spring every year. This program is entirely volunteer-run and supported by community donations.

The store was founded in 2008 by Kym Klopp, a local entrepreneur and environmental advocate.

Mitch Belman is the owner/operator of Loco Chico Productions, a boutique videography company that has been producing high-quality corporate and event video content for 25 years. Living in the St. Clair West neighbourhood for the past 15 years, Mitch is particularly fond of working on community and BIA projects.

Jenny, a native Montrealer, has called Toronto — and the St. Clair West community in particular — home since 2008. She is a creative product photographer specializing in retail spaces, providing merchants with an inventory of stylish images to use on social media, websites, brochures, and more. She also sells prints featuring nature, travel, and curios. Her work reflects a flair for highlighting beauty in the stuff of everyday life.

Jenni King

Jenni is the lay pastor at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican church at St. Clair and Bathurst. Passionate about community, humanity, and believing in miracles, she is well suited to her position as team lead for the church's Beeton Cupboard Food Bank, connecting those who have with those who have not. Jenni is a bridge-builder with a big heart and is delighted to be on the advisory board of Dine Collab.

Growth executive, founder and former CEO of #MoveTheDial

Jodi is an entrepreneur, angel investor, experienced technology growth leader, and global brand builder. She founded and was the CEO of #movethedial, focused on the equitable participation of all women in tech. Leveraging Jodi’s vision, wealth of experience, pioneering spirit, and passion, the movement impacted more than 60,000 people at events throughout Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Israel. Jodi has been recognized as an Adweek Brandstar in Toronto, one of Canada’s 25 Women of Influence, and one of WXN’s Canada’s 100 most powerful women. She co-chaired the 2018 re-election campaign for Toronto mayor John Tory, and sits on several tech company advisory boards as well as the boards of directors of the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights and Toronto Global. She also sits on SickKids’ Capital Campaign Cabinet and co-founded Tech4SickKids, raising $1.3 billion to transform pediatric health. Mary is a former marketing director at Tourism Toronto and Delta Hotels, where she developed a deep appreciation for the contribution of main streets to the visitor economy in addition to enhancing the quality of life for local residents. Since the spring of 2020, Mary has been dedicated to helping BIAs inspire more shopping while also demonstrating how they can optimize marketing activities through well-crafted data collection and reporting. Her company, ShopLocal2Win, won Interac’s 2021 Future of Retail challenge for building a program that not only boosts local retail while activated but also demonstrates changes to consumer behaviour to make shopping local a prevailing choice in the future. Since the company launched in the summer of 2020 in response to COVID-19 lockdowns, it has redirected over $2 million to main street retailers in partnership with over a dozen BIAs.
